How many moms can relate to this statement: “Clean your bathroom now!”?
Seriously, if you are the mom of at least one teen, you are familiar with that phrase. You say it, at least, a billion times a week!
I am the mom of one busy and messy teen. Honestly, sometimes I want to pull out all the hairs off my pretty head. Why? My teen and her lovely friends can make a number in her bathroom.
It is not easy repeating the same things many times to teenagers. Right moms? Their hormones sometimes get the best of them and our words are lost in the wind. It seems as they grow older the teenagers’ events become a weekly affair. Between their events and daily rituals, there seems to be no space for anything else in the bathroom. Because of all these, the task of cleaning becomes a chore and a solution unforeseeable. If you are a mom of a teen, “How many moms can relate to this statement: “Clean your bathroom now!”?
If you are a Latina mom, you know that weekend mornings are known for cleaning. You also know cleaning goes best to the rhythms of a good Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Reggaeton, Banda, Mariachi and oh so many others. In my household, that gene has, let me put it in simple form… not been inherited. Well, my teenager packs her stuff away from my bathroom that is as far as it gets, L.O.L!
I thought long and hard as I want to prepare the teens, including mine, as well as I could because sooner than later, they will be leaving home for college. I keep asking myself “How could I get my daughter and her friends to start pitching and keeping the bathroom clean and tidy?” Well, the answer was simple. I decided a new way is dancing the mess away.
I decided to combine two of my favorite things to get a simple result. Yes, I grew up with music doing our household chores on the weekends. We would have some odd spells dancing to the music. My first strategy to dance the mess away is to energize our spaces with the fresh clean scent while cleaning. My second strategy to dance the mess away is to get my teens to do just that, dance. Who says that you cannot enjoy dancing the mess away?
After the beautification two weekends later, I made it my way. We had fun with an after party cleaning event with the music of their choice and Pine Sol. The action was needed and Pine-Sol® kills 99.9% of germs when used as directed (Original Scent only.) Just what we needed, it is 4X the cleaning action! Imagine it can be used on dirt, grime, grease, and to deodorize. I trust to use it as it is safe on surfaces ( following directions.)
Having found a solution, I sailed through the door to Walmart on Okeechobee Rd, my favorite store, to buy Pine-Sol®. As usual, everyone was smiling on a sunny day. I was in for a surprise to see some new fragrance of the Pine-Sol® Multi-Surface Cleaner. I had a choice of choosing the Pine-Sol® Original, Pine-Sol® Lemon Fresh, Pine-Sol® Lavender Clean® or Pine-Sol® Sparkling Wave ®. You can find Pine-Sol® Multi-Surface Cleaner at the back of the store with the kitchen products and look for ‘Quick Clean Products’ or ask for the Quick Clean Products.
What better way than to embrace the teens who also has a strong sense of confidence and attitude. It is really awesome using a product you know works well at home with hard work, heart, and fun! It was great to teach the teens about cleanliness as they prepare for college, they will go boldly aiming for cleanliness.
